Black Star Diamond – Ghana
Black Star Diamond is a luxury resort and interior design project in Ghana that draws inspiration from the country’s rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes. Lotuz Studio has created a design that celebrates West African aesthetics through a contemporary architectural lens, resulting in spaces that are both globally sophisticated and deeply rooted in local identity.
The interior design showcases a masterful blend of traditional Ghanaian craft and modern luxury — hand-woven textiles, carved timber screens, and locally-produced ceramic tiles are combined with sleek contemporary furnishings and state-of-the-art amenities. Each guest room tells a story through its material palette, referencing Ghana’s diverse cultural regions.
Public spaces are conceived as immersive experiences: the lobby features a dramatic double-height atrium with a suspended art installation reflecting Ghana’s gold mining heritage, while the restaurant transitions seamlessly from air-conditioned interiors to open-air terraces overlooking the tropical landscape.
The resort architecture itself responds to Ghana’s tropical climate with deep overhangs, cross-ventilation corridors, and shaded outdoor living spaces that minimize energy consumption while maximizing guest comfort. Natural stone, tropical hardwoods, and rammed earth walls create a material vocabulary that is both luxurious and environmentally responsible.
