PHU QUOC TERMINAL
Phu Quoc Terminal is a landmark commercial project on Vietnam’s largest island, designed to serve as the gateway for millions of visitors arriving at this world-class tourism destination. Lotuz Studio’s design creates a building that is both operationally efficient and architecturally inspiring — a first impression that sets the tone for the island experience.
The terminal’s design takes inspiration from the ocean — a sweeping roof form evokes the movement of waves, while the structural system references the graceful curves of traditional Vietnamese fishing boats. The interior is organized as a clear, intuitive sequence of spaces that guide passengers smoothly from arrival to departure, with natural wayfinding supported by generous daylighting and views to tropical gardens.
Public areas feature a material palette of warm timber, polished stone, and living vegetation that immediately communicates the island’s tropical character. Retail and food-and-beverage zones are designed as a curated marketplace showcasing Phu Quoc’s famous pepper, fish sauce, and pearls — transforming the transit experience into a cultural introduction to the island.
The building is designed for tropical performance, with deep overhangs, natural ventilation zones, and a high-performance envelope that minimizes cooling loads. The project demonstrates how transportation infrastructure can contribute positively to a destination’s identity and visitor experience.
