Africa Safari Nyerere is an exclusive luxury safari lodge located within Tanzania’s largest game reserve — a vast wilderness named after the country’s founding father. Lotuz Studio designed this bush camp to provide an intimate, immersive wildlife experience while maintaining the highest standards of comfort and design excellence.

The lodge comprises a collection of private bush suites, each positioned for optimal game viewing along a seasonal river corridor. Architecture is deliberately understated — canvas and timber structures rest lightly on the landscape, with elevated platforms and open-air living areas that place guests at eye level with the surrounding wildlife. Each suite features an outdoor shower, a private plunge pool, and a sleep-out deck for nights under the African sky.

The main lodge is designed as a series of interconnected pavilions: a wine cellar carved into a termite mound, a library lounge with views across the floodplain, and a dining boma where meals are prepared over open fires. Interior design uses exclusively African materials — Tanzanian teak, sisal textiles, Maasai beadwork, and hand-forged ironwork — creating an authentic sense of place.

The project was realized with minimal environmental impact: no concrete was used, all structures are fully reversible, and power is generated entirely from solar panels. The lodge operates in partnership with local communities, providing employment, education, and anti-poaching support — ensuring that luxury tourism directly benefits the people and wildlife of the Nyerere ecosystem.
