RETREAT RESORT – MEXICO
Retreat Resort Mexico is an immersive wellness and hospitality project set in the dramatic landscapes of Mexico, where ancient traditions of healing and renewal meet contemporary luxury. Lotuz Studio’s design creates a resort that is fundamentally different from conventional hospitality — a place designed specifically for restoration, reflection, and personal transformation.
The resort is organized as a journey through a series of distinct experiential zones — arrival gardens, silent meditation spaces, active wellness facilities, communal gathering areas, and private retreat cabins — each designed to support a specific aspect of the wellness journey. Architecture becomes increasingly intimate and natural as guests move deeper into the resort, transitioning from social spaces to solitary spaces within a carefully choreographed landscape.
Building design draws from Mexican architectural traditions — massive stone walls, open-air patios, deep shade structures, and integration of water as a spiritual and sensory element. Guest accommodations are designed as private casitas embedded in the landscape, each with an outdoor garden shower, a meditation platform, and uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains or Pacific Ocean.
The spa and wellness center features temazcal (traditional sweat lodge) ceremonies, cenote-inspired cold plunge pools, herbal medicine gardens, and treatment rooms designed around the principles of biophilic design. The result is a resort where architecture, landscape, and program work together to create an environment of profound restorative power.
